The Reading Pops Big Band has been performing in the area, most recently during Jazz Appreciation Month, April, with two events. First was a swinging evening of music from the height of the big band era, featuring such notable composers as Benny Goodman, Jerry Gray, Johnny Warrington, and Artie Shaw.
The second evening was a side by side opportunity with the students of Exeter Junior High School jazz program. What an inspiration for these budding musicians to hear professional musicians perform along with the students and have time working in master class sessions!
The Reading Pops Big Band also has performed at Green Valley Swim Club Chateau Tent over Labor Day weekend in ’21 and ’22. Watch for info for September 2023 on our Facebook page.
